Immigration and the Left
The Left and the main stream media have distorted the executive order. They characterize this as a ban on Muslims, which it is not. They push a narrative of America was built with immgration. The immgration issue is not limited to refugees from the Middle East, but also the flood of people from the countries to our south. It is a battle that will continue until the laws are enforced and our borders are secure. With respect to the Latinos crossing our borders, they include criminals, drug thugs, gangs and potentially terrorists. There has been cases of illegals committing heinous crimes such as the shooting of the innocent women, Kate Steinle, in San Francisco by a five-time deported illegal immigrant with a long felony rap sheet and many others. Hopefully with the Republicans in control of both legislative branches, important legislation like “Kate’s Law” and “Stop Dangerous Sanctuary Cities Act” will be passed.
The immigration issue is not new, in the early 20th century, America was going through changes economically, socially and culturally. There were several Acts passed that placed limits and restricted immigration to the United States from certain areas of the World. The Immigration Act of 1917 imposed literacy tests, bans on “undesirables” and barred immigration from the Asia-Pacific Zone. The Emergency Immigration Act of 1921 restricted immigration by using a quota system based on the U.S. Census of 1910. The Immigration Act of 1924 placed further restrictions on immigration. Africans were restricted and Arabs and Asians were banned. These were in place until 1952 with the passage of the Immigration and Nationality Act, which completely revised immigration. This time it is pure politics from those on the Left. This is all part of their grand scheme to oppose Trump. The Ninth Circus Court ruling only fans the flame of those who want immigration reform and control.
